Papillon gites in Normandy are 1 mile from the centre of Gorges  which is a small village with a bar, shop, tennis  and boules courts &  church.
It is an ideal situation for holiday makers,  within easy travelling distance of the following ferry ports:
Cherbourg - 40 miles;  Caen- 55 miles; St Malo - 105 miles; Le Havre - 114 miles
Dinard airport - 110 miles
The nearest towns are Perriers (7 miles), Lessay ( 9.5 miles) and Carentan (9 miles).

Places of Interest
Sainte Mere Eglise  and the D Day Landing Beaches are only a short distance to the east ; while to the west there are  the wonderful  sandy beaches popular with holiday makers and famous for the wide range of shellfish from which the Cotentin Peninsula derives its name.
Bayeaux an interesting ancient town, famous for its tapestry and cathedral.
Mont St Michel - with its famous monastery and interesting location would make an ideal day out and provide the opportunity to explore further south of the peninsula.
Coutances & St Lo are both large towns with historic architecture, museums, beautiful public gardens as well as modern facilities including ice skating rink, go-karting and
ten-pin bowling.
Further south there are:
Villedieu des Poeles - famous for copper pans;
Granville - with its beautiful beach, busy marina and interesting shopping.
Jersey is only a short ferry ride away from the ports on the west coast.

Each weekday it is possible to find a local market, usually in the morning, selling fresh produce and local items.
